How to Draw St. Patrick’s Day. On this day, during the celebrations, the color green is usually very present, and images such as four-leaf clovers and leprechauns are also common.

We’ll focus on the latter in this guide to drawing St. Patrick’s Day since you’ll be drawing a cute leprechaun, and there might even be a few shamrocks in the mix!

This is a great way to get in the party spirit any time of the year! In this St. Patrick’s Day drawing guide, we’re going to draw a rather classic-looking cartoon rendition of a leprechaun. You can start the process by using a curved line to create the bottom part of the face.

How to Draw St. Patrick’s Day

Step 1

To draw his beard, extend the jagged lines you drew for his sideburns and draw the beard around the bottom of his face. After drawing, we can start drawing the jacket and vest.

Next, add some irregular lines down his face to start his fluffy beard. You can also draw pointy elf-like ears sticking out from the hair.

Finally, for this step, let’s draw his cylinder. This will have a band at the base over the edge, and then the top will be lined with curved lines.

Step 2

For this second phase of your St. Patrick’s Day drawing, we will add the rest of his beard while starting on his clothes.

To draw his beard, extend the jagged lines you drew for his sideburns and draw the beard around the bottom of his face. After drawing, we can start drawing the jacket and vest.

His eyes are drawn as two small circles with even smaller circles inside for pupils. His nose and mouth are drawn with slightly curved and rounded lines to give him a happy expression.

You can also add small rounded shapes under his face for his bow tie. Then use a few more curved stripes to recreate the vest and jacket as they occur in our reference picture.

Step 3

In this step of our St. Patrick’s Day drawing guide, you can draw some facial features along with the leprechaun’s arms.

His eyes are drawn as two small circles with even smaller circles inside for pupils. His nose and mouth are drawn with slightly curved and rounded lines to give him a happy expression.

This St. Patrick’s Day design looks cool! He’s just missing some legs to dance on, so we’ll add them in this step and the next.

Now let’s add his belt and pant legs. For the belt, you can draw a rectangular shape for the buckle and then use straight lines for the strap.

Next, he uses smooth, fairly straight lines for his jacket’s arms, which extend outward.

You can complete this step by drawing a hand at the end of each one and then adding another shamrock in the left hand!

Step 4

This St. Patrick’s Day design looks cool! He’s just missing some legs to dance on, so we’ll add them in this step and the next.

Now let’s add his belt and pant legs. For the belt, you can draw a rectangular shape for the buckle and then use straight lines for the strap.

So finally, we will draw some vintage-looking shoes on his feet, and they will have square shapes for the buckle.

You could design a background with more St. Patrick’s Day iconography to complement the theme, or you could recreate your favorite St. Patrick’s Day celebration that you attended.

So let’s finish this step by using more curved lines for her legs. The legs are stretched at an angle to make it appear like she is dancing a jig.

As seen in the photo, there are also some yellow and brown tones to break it up.

You can change the shades or use cool painting media to color your drawing.
